Q. Does it visibly change the colour to brown or only under sunlight?
A. Dr. MHP Ayurveda’s Sona Henna Powder is 100% natural, organically certified ground Henna leaves, that naturally colours hair. Mix Organic Henna Powder with tea/coffee decoction & lime juice; leave overnight, apply to clean, dry hair for 1-2 hours, rinse clear with water only, shampoo the following day. While different hair/skin types react differently to even natural products we recommend strand/patch testing prior to global application.

A. It is not recommended to use our Sona Henna Powder on Hands.

STEP 1:
Soak Sona Henna powder in an iron bowl to make a thick paste and set aside for 2-4 hours (preferably overnight). You may add curd, lemon, Tea, coffee, egg or any other ingredient as per choice.
Soak according to your hair length.
STEP 2:
Apply to clean dry hair with brush & spread it evenly all over hair and scalp. Keep for 2-3 hours, depending upon the tint & texture required.
Do not use shampoo.
STEP 3:
Wash off thoroughly with plain water, repeating as many times as you need.

WHAT IT WORKS BEST WITH?
Recommendations:
For Darker richer colour – Mix Sona Henna powder with black coffee or burgundy wine.
For darkening blonde hair – Use henna powder with suitable quantity of lemon juice or vinegar.
For best results : Use twice a week to maintain the hair graceful & lustrous.
POST-WASH:
Oil your hair overnight & wash with shampoo the next day. It takes a day’s time for henna to darken on hair, hence advisable to not use shampoo on the day of application.
Instructions :
• Shampoo your hair before application and then dry them with a towel or hair drier.
• Wear suitable gloves and apply the paste on your hair carefully with a brush so that it does not drip.
• Start at the roots and work your way up dividing the hair into segments.
• Work gently through every part of your hair and pile your hair on top of your head.
• Shampoo your hair the next day.
• Do not dry the hair in the sun.
BEST PRACTICES:
– If applied on chemically colored or treated hair, will take a couple of uses to show good color
– If a first time henna user, apply again after 15 days of 1st application. That way henna color will come out beautifully and will last long.
– Safe to use after first trimester of pregnancy
– Safe for kids above 5yrs but recommended to start using regularly only after 12yrs of age.
